For effective administration and the interest of the students, FUOYE Students’ Union Government has organised a fundraising event as well as launching the Students’ Union Building on Thursday, 10th February, 2022.
Recall that the previous administration led by Comrade Sunday Alabi commenced the project, the current administration, led by Comr. Teslim Salahudeen is making sure the continuity is in progress.
The event started at about 12:30 pm with the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Abayomi Fashina.
Also in attendance were the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Professor Dosu Malomo; Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Omotola, The wife of the Vice-Chancellor, acting Registrar, Mr. Muftau Ibrahim; Dean of Faculty of Arts, Professor B.T Opoola; and the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students, Comrade Sunday Asefon.
The Dean of Students’ Affairs, Professor Dosu Malomo in his speech duly authenticated and appreciated the presence of everybody, as well as the active involvement of the Vice-Chancellor towards the 80% completion of phase one of the projects — the new students’ union building,
He also stated that the students’ affairs and the students’ union are looking forward to the completion of phase two of the project.
While speaking, the Vice-Chancellor promised that the building will be completed in the next six months. He also implored other dignitaries to donate towards the success of the project.
“I won’t announce the amount I would be donating to the completion of this building, but I will surely donate a huge amount of money while also working hand in hand with the Bursar of the University,” He said.
During the event, the committee of Deans and Directors donated a sum of N200,000 to the students’ union.
The NANS President, Comr. Sunday Asefon applauded the Vice Chancellor for the monumental support he is offering to the constituency of students of the university.
“We are happy, the entire students of Ekiti State are also happy and Nigerian students are also proud of what you have been doing to support the Union activities on campus. On behalf of the students, NANS will donate an amount of Hundred Thousand Naira,” He said jubilantly.

The President of the Union, Comrade Teslim Salahudeen also appreciated the Vice Chancellor for his fatherly support and fatherly role he always offers for the Union.
“On behalf of all the students on this campus, we clearly appreciate your support and we celebrate your one year in office.”
After this, he presented an infographics to the Vice-Chancellor, celebrating his one year in office.
