FUOYESUDecides: Teslim Emerges President as New FUOYESU Executives Surface

The Federal University Oye-Ekiti has held the Student Union election on Tuesday, 13th of July, 2021, via e-voting.

The election commenced some minutes after the stipulated time, 10:00 am and stopped at exactly 5:08 pm. Prof. Dosu Malomo announced the conclusion of the voting process immediately.

The Main Auditorium at Phase 1 served as the situation room where aspirants’ agents and members of the electoral committee members monitored the election.

The Vice President aspirant, Aruna Oluwaseun, was without opposition. General Secretary, Umaru Oluwaseun also was without opposition. This also applies to the Treasurer and Assistant General Secretary positions, totalling four positions with only an aspirant each.

For the Social Secretary Position, Olawaye Ayomide emerged victorious with 4,475 votes while Fafowora Olamilekan claimed 3,784 votes.

Ojo Samuel had 2,959 votes while Adeniyi Rilwan and Adeyosoye had 3,921 votes and 1,386 votes respectively for the Financial Secretary position.

Meanwhile, Ikechukwu Chukwuebuka and Chukwu Daniel garnered 4,924 votes and 3,295 votes respectively for the Welfare Secretary position.

The Welfare Secretary position saw Ogunlade Moses emerge victorious with 4,680 votes against Fajembola Kayode’s 3,575 votes.

The candidates for the Public Relations Officer position included Adeosun Tunde, Apara Emmanuel and Adedokun Abdul Qoyyum. Adedokun Abdul Qoyyum came out on top with 3,671 votes while Adeosun Tunde and Apara Emmanuel had a share of 2,283 votes and 2,337 votes respectively.

Also, Olasehinde Oluwatosin clinched a victory with 3,224 votes for the Transport Secretary position. His oppositions, Afolabi Gideon and Ajayi Ayomikun acquired 2,683 votes and 2,374 votes respectively.

For the apex position of the union, Salahudeen Teslim emerged victorious in a fierce competition with Odetunde Oluwasegun, both having 2,360 votes and 2,243 votes respectively.

Sunday Oluwatosin had 1,351 votes while Ogunmiluyi Adeoluwayemi and Odanye Steven took 1,370 votes and 1,095 votes respectively.
