#FUOYESUDecides’22: SUSC Election Suspended, Students Continue to Lament Voting Difficulty

By UCJ FUOYE

Students of Federal University Oye-Ekiti have expressed their plight about the inability to vote for the FUOYE Student union elections.

The election, which started at about 10AM was refreshed at 11AM due to network issues. After refreshing the site, the portal stopped working again. At about 11:30 AM, the electioneering process resumed, however, it was still slow.

Bridget Mustapha, a 300 level student from the department of Microbiology told UCJ FUOYE that she was unable to vote even after refreshing the page several times.

“I have refreshed the page more than twice but the page has an error,” Mustapha said.

Also, Tomilola Ajayi, a 300-level student from the department of Education and English Language explained that the portal keeps fluctuating and she is unable to cast her votes.

To reduce traffic congestion which is causing mishaps on the voting site, one of the electoral officials, Akorede Ademola announced that the electoral committee has decided to suspend the Students’ Union Senate Council (SUSC) election. This is to reduce the congestion, presently experienced on the site. He also said that the new date for the SUSC election will be communicated.

“We have to bash the Students’ Union Senate Council (SUSC) election as it will not be held today,” he said.
